Since 1999, Technology Across the Curriculum (TAC) has enabled disciplinary content and pedagogical aims to drive the integration of technology throughout the entire curriculum of the department.
The emphasis on curriculum means that not only are we committed to using technology to further our teaching in the classroom, but we are also building the capabilities to integrate technology throughout the total learning environment: in student activities whether inside or outside the classroom, in the nature of assignments, in supporting faculty preparation and delivery of courses, in making materials available and in material delivery, and in improving the overall level of connection between faculty and students.
TAC began as the vision of the faculty of the Department of Communication, and has been supported financially since September 2001 by students enrolled in Communication courses. These funds support a variety of activities, including training sessions, equipment purchases and maintenance, the creation of online tutorials, and the maintenance of file & web servers.
